Grandstream’s Upcoming Onsite and Remote Communications Solution

In our previous blog post, we wrote on how the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t create a new demand within the communications and collaboration market, it sped up its adoption. Remote work isn’t anything new, it is a trend that has been gradually developing prior to the pandemic accelerating it into a status quo. At Grandstream, we recognized the need for a solution that is as customizable and secure as an onsite device, while being as flexible as a remote cloud solution. The upcoming UCM6300 Ecosystem is a solution bundle that provides complete communications and collaboration for onsite and remote deployments. Installers and IT teams will be able to create IP communication and collaboration solutions with Grandstream products that can seamlessly bridge geographical gaps to link all users within an organization under one network, no matter their location.

Ecosystem Overview

The UCM6300 Ecosystem is comprised of four key components, the UCM6300 series of IP PBXs, UCM RemoteConnect, Wave, and Grandstream Device Management System. Before covering each individual part, its important to understand what these pieces can accomplish when working together. The solution as a whole creates a hybrid communication platform in which businesses and their users can take advantage of a wide array of collaboration tools to drive productivity and efficiency. Entire organizations of users and devices, both onsite and remote, are easily brought together in one central unified collaboration network that is housed on the UCM6300 series. These remote users connect to the UCM6300 via secure cloud-based NAT firewall traversal through UCM RemoteConnect. IT teams and solution installers can also take advantage of UCM RemoteConnect to configure every aspect of an onsite UCM6300 IP PBX, entirely from the cloud.

UCM RemoteConnect is accessed through Grandstream Device Management System, our cloud-based device provisioning and management platform. As a result, every business can craft a network that is as unique as their operational requirements. Hundreds of features on both the UCM and accompanied endpoint devices can be managed and configured through a single, secure online portal. The UCM6300 Ecosystem takes this a step further, providing powerful conferencing and collaboration tools which can be accessed through desktops, mobile phones, and more. This empowers users with a variety of ways to experience high-quality video conferencing with their colleagues or clients.

Now that we have an understanding of what the UCM6300 Ecosystem is as a whole, lets take a look at each individual component.

UCM6300 IP PBX

At the heart of the entire solution lies a UCM6300 series IP PBX, the ecosystem anchor. The UCM6300 series is Grandstream’s upcoming addition to our existing UCM communications and collaboration devices. UCM6300 series is unique to the product line as is provides a clearer selection of devices based on a deployment’s total users and call volume. On top of this, UCM6300 devices come equipped with the ability to create virtual meeting spaces and hold video conferences entirely through the UCM device. Within the UCM6300 Ecosystem, a UCM IP PBX serves as the linking point for all components of the ecosystem itself. Extensions, devices, inbound and outbound routes, IVRs, call queues, device associations, and hundreds of other functions are all housed within this compact and powerful device, truly serving as an organization’s communications backbone.

Wave

Wave, a desktop and mobile app that provides remote voice and collaboration tools for business users, is the third piece to the UCM6300 Ecosystem. Wave offers an easy-to-use platform that colleagues can use to remotely join, schedule, and hold meetings, calls, and conferencing from anywhere. In addition to this, it allows UCM6300 series users to access their extensions, call any other extension, landlines, and mobile numbers through the associated IP PBX. Wave pairs through UCM RemoteConnect and, utilizing the NAT firewall traversal, securely connects a remote user to the organization’s communications network from wherever they are. Wave goes beyond a typical softphone application offering, by also providing crucial video conferencing tools and capabilities.

Grandstream Device Management System

The final piece of the UCM6300 Ecosystem, GDMS gives organizations the ability to provision, configure, and manage their entire deployment of devices entirely from the cloud. With this platform, organizations can not only manage their UCM6300 IP PBX, but endpoints and other devices as well. GDMS features an easy to utilize interface to organize devices, provision, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot Grandstream products, and access firmware upgrades and statistical analysis. Devices are batched by sites, groups, or models depending on network requirements. Lastly, it supports TLS encryption and two-way certificate verification and encryption of all device information.

Virtual Tour of the UCM6300 IP PBX

The UCM6300 Ecosystem combines a UCM6300 IP PBX, UCM RemoteConnect, Wave, and Grandstream Device Management System to create a hybrid network solution. Onsite and remote users can all be connected to a single communications network, which helps drive productivity and keeps solutions streamlined and simple. As was said earlier in this blog post, the upcoming UCM6300 IP PBX is the anchor of the entire Ecosystem. We have a helpful platform that you can take advantage of to take a virtual tour of our upcoming UCM6300 series.
