Akubela is the smart home brand of Akuvox, the smart intercom manufacturer. An Akubela home automation system uses wired KNX and IP networking as its backbone and adds Zigbee 3.0 wireless devices, so one home can mix wired and wireless control.
The Akubela HyPanel is an in-wall touchscreen that combines smart home control, video intercom, scenes and a Zigbee gateway in a single panel. Residents can also use the BelaHome app and voice control.
In India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and the Maldives, Akubela products are supplied by the authorised national distributor, Cohesive Technologies, based in Delhi.
Akubela runs critical circuits on wired KNX and extends control wirelessly with Zigbee 3.0, with the HyPanel acting as both the control screen and the Zigbee gateway. Integrators can wire KNX where cabling is planned and add Zigbee devices where rewiring isn't practical, all managed as one system.
KNX is the open international standard for home and building automation. Akubela KNX Add-Ons and Aura Series KNX smart switches handle lighting, curtains and climate on a dedicated bus that keeps working without the internet. Projects are programmed in ETS.
Zigbee is a low-power wireless mesh protocol. Akubela Zigbee add-ons, including touch switches, smart plugs, scene buttons, sensors and actuators, connect to the HyPanel without new cabling, which makes them ideal for apartments, retrofits and rooms added later.
The HyPanel series brings automation, video intercom, scenes and device control into one wall panel. Depending on the model, a HyPanel also acts as the gateway for Zigbee, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices.
The BelaHome app and Bela Smart Living Assistant let residents control lighting, climate, locks, scenes and intercom from a phone or tablet, across both KNX and Zigbee devices.
